A Birthday Filled with Hope and Giving

As I look back on my recent birthday, my heart is full of gratitude. This year’s celebration wasn’t about cake, candles, or gifts—it was about something much deeper: giving back to the children at the House of Hope. These young warriors, who are battling cancer with incredible courage, filled my day with their strength, smiles, and boundless inspiration.

To everyone who gave their time, resources, and presence, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your kindness didn’t just make my birthday special—you touched the lives of 34 children and their families. I am especially grateful to Ma’am Stella Estremera for helping me bring this meaningful activity to life.

These children, though small in size, carry an extraordinary strength. Their smiles, even amidst the hardest battles, remind me that hope is the greatest gift we can give or receive. Spending time with them was a humbling and beautiful experience, teaching me that resilience and love can truly move mountains.

When people ask why I chose to celebrate my birthday with the children at the House of Hope, my answer is simple: children have always held a special place in my heart. As someone born and raised in Davao City, I wanted to give back to my community and honor the real heroes—the kids who face life’s toughest challenges with unwavering hope and grace. These little fighters have shown me that the bravest souls are often the smallest ones.

For years, I have been funding The Joyful Giver’s projects myself—planting trees, running medical missions, and helping those in need. But as the calls for help grew louder, so did the dream. In 2024, The Joyful Giver® officially became a foundation, with a mission to spread hope, healing, and love to those who need it most.

But I can’t do this alone. To continue this mission, I need more Joyful Givers—people like you who believe in the power of kindness and community. Whether it’s big or small, your support makes a difference. Together, we can give hope to children fighting their hardest battles and to communities in need of compassion and care.
