Together for Mother Earth
Some acts of kindness are meant to grow for generations.
On August 20, 2024, The Joyful Giver® gathered volunteers, partners, and environmental advocates at La Mesa Dam for a tree planting activity that became much more than an environmental project. It became a shared commitment to protect our forests, strengthen our communities, and create a healthier future for the generations that will follow.
Together, we planted 300 Narra seedlings, one of the Philippines' treasured native tree species. Every seedling represented hope for a greener tomorrow and a reminder that protecting our environment begins with the choices we make today.
The Philippines continues to experience stronger typhoons, flooding, soil erosion, and the growing effects of climate change. Healthy forests play a vital role in protecting our watersheds, improving biodiversity, reducing soil erosion, and strengthening the resilience of communities. By restoring our forests today, we are helping create safer and healthier communities for tomorrow.
What made this project truly meaningful was not only the number of trees planted, but the number of hearts that came together with one shared purpose. Volunteers from different backgrounds, professions, and organizations stood side by side, united by a common belief that every person has a role in protecting our planet.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to the 11th Civil Military Operations Kaugnayan Battalion, under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Gene R. Orense, for providing dedicated personnel whose commitment and teamwork helped make the activity a success.
We are sincerely grateful to the Rotary Club of Makati Ayala West for generously providing meals for our volunteers, ensuring everyone remained energized throughout the day. Our appreciation also goes to Police Lieutenant Dan Mcgill L. Sison and his team for their encouragement and support during the activity. We thank the Pranic Healing Association of the Philippines Inc. for leading a meaningful moment of reflection and prayer, reminding us of our shared responsibility to care for the environment. Special thanks to KOOLTEK Philippines Inc. for managing logistics, providing water, and preparing nourishing vegetarian meals for all participants. We are grateful to the Alpas Mental Health Community, led by Mary Fernandez, for joining us in promoting environmental stewardship and community wellness. Our sincere appreciation goes to Dr. Chinny Kwan, who generously volunteered her time to ensure the health and safety of everyone throughout the event. Standing among hundreds of newly planted Narra seedlings, surrounded by volunteers who freely gave their time and energy, reminded us that meaningful change is never created by one person alone. It grows when communities unite with a shared purpose and a willingness to serve.
This tree planting activity marked the beginning of a much larger vision. Through The Joyful Giver® Tree Planting Philippines Project, our commitment extends through 2040, with the goal of restoring forests, strengthening communities, and encouraging more people to become stewards of our environment.
Every tree planted today becomes a gift to tomorrow.
Every volunteer becomes part of that legacy.
Every act of generosity helps create lasting impact.
